Matthew (now 13) has been a member of the Exmouth Town Concert Band for four years and is still its youngest member! He is a pupil at Exmouth Community College and started playing the trumpet and cornet when he was at Lympstone C of E Primary School. He is a member of the Community College Swing Band and has been well-placed in the Exmouth Rotarians' 'Young Musician of the Year' competitions. Matthew also plays the piano (Grade 5) and accompanies solo players and plays duets with his brother Simon, also a member of the Concert Band. Outside music, Matthew has played chess for Devon, cricket for Exmouth colts and enjoys rugby, cycling and sailing.
