STEVE GRANT – Director of Music

Steve gained his musical experience while serving 25 years in the Band of Her Majestys Royal Marines. He travelled extensively throughout the world performing for Royalty and dignitaries. One of the highlights of his career in the Marines was being given the position as principal flautist on board HM Yacht Britannia during a Royal Tour of America and the Caribbean.

Since leaving the Marines Steve continues with his musical career as a peripatetic teacher in East Devon, teaching Flute, Saxophone and Clarinet. He took up the role as conductor of the Devon Youth Wind Orchestra in 2006. He is also the conductor of East Devon Music Centre Wind Band and Saxophone Choir, as well as various other ensembles.
